3 Stars - Cameron's final Jack Ryan adventure doesn't send him off with the biggest bang, but it's still pretty top notch. Loads of familiar faces fill the pages and a dose political reality here and there that Clancy would've been proud of. The first few pages certainly hooked me with President Ryan MIA, but admittedly there's little action in this one for our favorite heroes until the very end. Working backwards, we sort of already knew what we will building up to and it took away a bit of the suspense. Sometimes these newer stories still feel like Clancy lite, but I suppose that's beneficial for finding new readers. An over abundance of detail and background was never a huge selling point. A lot of focus was on the new operatives Mandy and Chilly, who seem to be good additions to the Campus team. While not a non-stop thrill ride, there's plenty of political intrigue, diabolical villains, and excitement here.
