Do you love to sink into a decadent dish and story? We sure do!

We're glad you're here so we can share our April Dinner and a Book idea. We're making Lemon Verbena Tembleque from With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo.

Let's get started!

Serves – Your heart when you are missing someone you love.

Ingredients

2 cans of coconut milk

Handful of white sugar

Four shakes of cornstarch

Pinch of salt

Bunch of lemon verbena leaves

Bunch of vanilla beans

Cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

1. In a saucepan, heat the milk until comes to a low boil. Muddle a bunch of verbena leaves and vanilla beans and add to the heated milk. Let steep.

2. After fifteen minutes or so, mix the milk, salt, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir until cornstarch dissolves.

3. Let the combination come back to a boil and stir until pudding thick.

4. Pour into a big cereal bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for five hours.

5. Remove from cereal bowl and sprinkle with cinnamon.
